I am pretty much the 'Sernior Graphic Designer', and Creative Director for Arees, IN, IlmQuest. Just do not the time resources. We have other designers, but most of them do not product the work at the standard we like (creative and production). Also, there are some things like that (creative commons) , but nothing at 300+ DPI that I know of. If you would do something like that, it would be great we would defintely contribute to it - its been an idea we have had for a while.. but more so between just a few skilled photographers... but it may make more sense to open it to everyone. For example, I'm planning to invest in a very nice Digital SLR camera (the Canon EOS Rebel XT) for myself. I imagine that over time, I will be building up a large repository of pictures of generic things. I'm sure there are other people out there that will be doing the same. We can setup a site where these pictures can be shared (e.g., released under a Creative Commons license). Just a random thought. It might not provide the solution in the short term, but with the amount of people in the IN community, I imagine it is something that can become useful in the long run. Perhaps there are even such communities out there, where you can use the images free of charge. One of the reasons to go with a smaller graphic was the fact that high quality 300/600 DPI images are just to expensive to purchase (1o a month if we have 10 unique cds), can easily cost around 2-3k. So a smaller image, lets us use higher quality images even though they take up less space.. a 600 pixel image is easier (read: cheaper) to use, though we can only use it about two inches. Note, this will still be a trial for some effect - if it effects sales, we may go back to larger (but lesser quality images) if it proves to be more effective sales wise... It's snappy, maa shaa Allaah. It's probably too late in the development for suggestions, but maybe you can give more focus to the graphic, while still maintaining a consistent look-and-feel (I still remember your product for When Wolves Become Shepherds - this is kind of what I'm hinting at).
